Week 1. Leap Past Limitations: God Will Fight For You
As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked up, and there were the Egyptians, marching after them. They were terrified and cried out to the Lord. They said to Moses, “Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us to the desert to die? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt? Didn’t we say to you in Egypt, ‘Leave us alone; let us serve the Egyptians’? It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert!” Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” -- Exodus 14:10-14

There are so many important things on our minds today. How are the bills going to get paid? How you are going to get everything on your to do list done? Who are you going to marry? (Singles) How are you going to overcome your illness? Don't you wish there was an easy way to get all of the answers to all of your important questions? All of these thing have a huge impact on our emotions and feelings.
How do you think all the things that are on our hearts today compare to all the things that were on the hearts of Moses and the Israelites as they were leaving Egypt in Exodus? Israelites were not far from leaving Egypt but coming after them was the Egyptian army. In front of them was a large body of water that they could not cross. They didn't see a way forward in life, just like we often don't. At that time Moses raised his staff and said to them, "you only need to be still". He told them that "the Lord will fight for you". The Lord was going to give them a way forward. In the same way the Lord will always give us the way forward.
