Day 13 - May 24, 2019

Faith and Obedience
Week 2: Leap with Courage

Then the Lord said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Take the whole army with you, and go up and attack Ai. For I have delivered into your hands the king of Ai, his people, his city and his land. -- Joshua 8:1

Read Joshua 8:1-9 and imagine the scene. You’ve tried your approach to a situation and failed. Now a plan to conquer the same situation using Gods approach is set in motion. You must trust your brothers and sisters to do their part, you must do yours, and God will do his. Have you been in a situation where you have had to rely on someone? Is it easy? When they did their part and you did yours, and it all came together, how did you feel? What about when you needed God to help you? Looking back in your life, when have you had a situation where you put your faith in God to help you in a Godly purpose?

Read Joshua 8:12-22. Listen to God and he will tell you when to act, and hold up your javelin of faith. God gave Joshua a vision of faith. Joshua had to trust in God and have courage that God would win the victory. With Joshua, it was life or death for him, his family and his people! Joshua did his part and acted with courage. God guided his win because he was doing it all for God. God will guide your win, because, “…you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession…”! (1Peter 2:9) You are His win! Be courageous and not afraid, and do not be discouraged.

Your call to leap:
Pray about challenging situations you are facing in your life. In what ways could you put your faith in God to help you?
